100 Days to Yellow Ribbon National Road Safety Week!
We are now just 100 days out from Yellow Ribbon National Road Safety Week! (8 to 14 May 2017)
This year NRSW will also will coincide with, and be an event of the biennial United Nations Global Road Safety Week (UNGRSW). Additionally, it will
be an event of the international road safety movement "Maio Amarelo" or as we know it, Yellow Ribbon May.
In addition to thanking you for the activities undertaken (ie. displaying national road safety week messaging via VMS and social media, Parliamentarians wearing yellow lapel ribbons, the lighting in yellow of the Gladesville Bridge etc), the correspondence noted that on 27 July 2016 the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC) announced that the next biennial UNGRSW will be held from 8-14 May 2017. As such, NRSW and be an event of the Global Week.
With Australia as one of the first major countries to commence the Global Week, our icons lit in yellow will not just be a focal point for NRSW, but or the UN event as well.
This Friday 3 February, the National Partners, State/Territory Governments and Motoring organisations will meet in Adelaide to progress planning for the week.
An icon of South Australia - Adelaide Oval has been lit in yellow for NRSW since 2014
