About 300 people are killed or seriously injured on Tasmanian roads each year. The Road Safety Advisory Council's (RSAC) long-term vision is for no-one to be seriously injured or killed as a result of a road crash. We call it our Towards Zero strategy.
Every year we support National Road Safety Week (30 April - 6 May 2018) to highlight awareness about the need for greater road safety.
Since 2014, we have held a competition for the best 30 second road safety 'commercial' that has a Towards Zero theme. The Competition is for Tasmanians aged between 16 and 19 years and will be judged on 8 May 2018.
The first prize is $5000 and the second is five driving lessons from the RACT and one year's roadside membership. Entries close at midnight on Sunday 22 April.
